Refillable Beauty From Madson Wines

Winegrower Cole Thomas and his friend, potter Drake Bialecki, were roommates in college at UC Santa Cruz before both went their separate ways to apprentice in their respective fields: Thomas to Australia to work in the vineyards, and Bialecki to England, where he apprenticed at The Leach Pottery in St Ives, Cornwall U.K. But the two are back together again, collaborating on a series of handsome ceramic bottles that contain wines that Thomas makes under the Madson Cellars label.

Santa Cruz Community Table Ceramic Plate 2023

The Santa Cruz Community Table was lined with a collection of plates from various makers we have worked with throughout the years. We are excited to share our newest collaboration with Santa Cruz local, Drake Bialecki of Pacific Stone Pottery and give you the opportunity to take home a limited edition piece of the community table.

Set the table (yours or ours) with this 10.5” plate handcrafted from speckled clay from Pacific Stone Pottery. The aqua glaze will transport you to the shallows of the Pacific in the height of the summer when Santa Cruz surfers wake up early to catch the best waves before the day begins. The raw edge allows the clay's natural texture to shine through, while the Man in the Field logo stamped on the back reminds you to connect back to the earth with every meal served on this plate.

Leach Pottery Studio: 10 Years On

To complement its 10 Year Celebrations the Leach Pottery presents ‘Leach Pottery Studio: 10 Years On’, an exhibition featuring potters who have worked in the Leach Studio since opening 10 years ago. The Leach Pottery re-opened as a Museum and working pottery in 2008, after closing its doors in 2005. There will be a diverse array of pots to view and buy, all with a truly international theme – as is the tradition of the Leach Pottery. Expect all manner of domestic wares for your home and kitchen, including special decorative pieces, made by established and early career potters from as near as Cornwall and as far away as Japan, India and the USA.
